Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a library card?
It’s easy! Just be sure to bring in a state issued ID or Driver’s License with your current address on it. Haven’t updated it yet? Then be sure to bring in a utility bill (phone, gas, electric) or a rental/lease agreement or mortgage.
How do I get a minor a card?
Be sure to bring your state issued ID with the correct address on it. Bring the child/children you want to sign up. You will have to take responsibility for all the items that they check out. They then will have their very own library card!
How many items can I have out at one time?
The total number of items that can be checked out at any one time on a card is 40. Within that limit of 40, a patron may only have twenty movies out. Books, audiobooks, CDs and magazines have no special limit.
What happens if I don’t return the item on time?
CCPL is not charging late fees at this time. We do, of course, appreciate when items are returned on time so other patrons can borrow them. If an item has been missing for six months or more, we will declare the item as lost and add the replacement fee to your account.
How do fines negatively affect me?
After your fines exceed $15.00, your card and account become blocked. You will not be able to check out any more items. Once your balance is under $15.00, normal privileges will be reinstated.
Can I let someone else use my card?
The simple answer is: NO! Your card is your own responsibility and only you may use your card. This is to prevent fraud and protect you by not allowing people to check out (and not return) items you are responsible for. However, we give you the option of allowing who can use your card by filling out a Card Sharing Agreement form. This authorizes any person you choose to check out items on your card. You can revoke this privilege at any time by calling or coming into the library.
I lost my card. How do I get a new one?
Come in to CCPL with your ID and we will issue you a new card! If you use our online library, be sure to tell us when we replace your card so we can make sure that your history and holds merge over to the new card.
My card isn't working on the digital libraries. What do I do?
Your library card expires yearly in order to keep information up to date. Please call, email, or chat with us and we will happily renew it for you!
How do I change my PIN?
We can change it for you! Just call, email, or chat on our website and we will reset it.
If you don't have an item, can I request it?
Absolutely! We can order books, audio books, e-books, DVD's, and CDs. Please ask any librarian and we will help you fill out the request form.
How much do your programs cost?
CCPL programs are free! You can visit our online calendar here to view upcoming programs. Please keep in mind that some will require registration and do fill up quickly, so be sure to register for the ones you find interesting right away.

Every March 1st, CCPL gives away bags of seeds! You can receive a bag with flower and herb seeds, vegetable seeds, or a mix of both. All you need is an active library card and to stop by to pick up your bag!
